#1. Grand Wailea

This is one of the best places to stay in Maui for an amazing experience. With a beautiful beachfront property spanning over 40 acres on the island’s south shore and being built to resemble an outdoor art gallery, The Grand Wailea is the most well-known Maui resort. Many amenities are available, such as nine pools, complimentary beach cruisers, and weekly cultural tours offered by the resort’s Hawaiian Cultural Ambassador.

There are also seven on-site dining options. This includes ‘Ikena, where the Saturday rosé brunch offers rosé glasses that are both energizing and regional food. Along with an in-house astrologer and chart reading, there is also a nightly luau dining experience with performers narrating significant tales of how Hawaii was created.

#2. The Ritz Carlton Maui, Kapalua

Go to The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua on the less visited northwest half of the island if you prefer a quieter, more private experience in Maui. The resort was one of the most tranquil locations I’ve stayed at when I went in April. Although the vast resort may seem far away, it is actually close to everything you need. This includes a tennis court and golf course, as well as a 20,000-square-foot pool deck.

The resort also takes pride in its extensive cultural programming, which includes daily ceremonies at dusk and morning walks that follow the edge of the surrounding Honokahua Preservation Site, an old burial place.

#3. Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea

This is also one of the best places to stay in Maui which offers excellent services to its guests. Maui is without a doubt a popular destination for those seeking beauty and tranquility. With its breathtaking coastal views, three saltwater pools, a spa, tennis courts, and more, the opulent Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea perfectly embodies that essence. This is the hotel that my Maui-native friends assure me is worth the expense when luxury is top of mind and a sizable budget is available.

And if the well-kept grounds look familiar, it’s because the HBO series “White Lotus” was filmed at this hotel. The bathrooms are glam, the lanais offer views of the garden or mountains, and the rooms are elegant and contemporary with tropical elements.

#4. The Plantation Inn and Kaanapali Beach Hotel

I suggest the modest 18-room Plantation Inn for its low-key, beautiful lodgings for tourists who wish to stay nearby the best eateries, shops, and activities on Maui without spending a lot of money. Breakfast is also included, adding value, and staying here gives you access to the hotel’s sister property, the Kaanapali Beach Hotel, where I spent my formative years whenever my family traveled to Maui. Walking right onto the beach and going whale watching in the winter are two of my favorite memories.

If you want to save money without losing comfort, the Plantation Inn is a wonderful option. This is because it is considerably less expensive. Also, both hotels provide cultural events for families, including lei-making and hula. These hotels are, in my opinion, landmarks in west Maui, despite the fact that they tend to be on the simpler side.

#5. Waianapanapa State Park Cabins

Those who prefer hiking and other outdoor activities can consider staying in one of the cabins at Waianapanapa State Park. They can accommodate up to six people and have a living room and kitchen area with a two-burner hot plate, microwave, and refrigerator. However, a two-night minimum stay is required. Also, they get to experience the park’s blowholes, lava tunnels, native hala-tree forest, and Heiau (a religious temple) up close. My preferred activity in the park is to take a picnic to the secluded, little black-sand beach created by Haleakala’s lava rocks, which is finished off with evening stargazing.

Hotel Wailea, one of the best-liked places to lodge in Maui is a tranquil adults-only refuge with stunning panoramic views in a cozy setting that nevertheless puts you close to the beach without any of the beach traffic or noise.
